About this event

Community Rail Network is working with the Great British Railways Transition Team to run a webinar for community rail partnerships and groups on the transition to Great British Railways.

This one-hour online session will provide an introduction to the Transition Team’s role and priorities over the months and years ahead, and outline its commitments to working with Community Rail Network to keep community rail informed and engaged through this period of change.

There will be a chance to ask questions and reflect on how community rail can play an increasingly important role in the future, helping the rail industry to be community-orientated, collaborative and responsive to local needs.

Outline agenda:

• Welcome and scene setting - Jools Townsend, chief executive, Community Rail Network (10 mins)

• Overview of GBR TT role and priorities, and call for evidence – Rufus Boyd, programme director, passenger and freight services, GBR TT (20 mins)

• Q&A and discussion (25 mins)

• Conclusion and wrap up – Jools Townsend, chief executive, Community Rail Network (5 mins)

The webinar takes place while the GBR Transition Team is running a call for evidence on the forthcoming 30-year Whole Industry Strategic Plan.

While insights from the webinar may be used by the GBR TT, and Community Rail Network in its response to the call for evidence, community rail partnerships and station groups are also invited to submit their own responses should they wish, drawing on your experiences.

The deadline for responses is 4th Feb, and you can respond to as many or few questions as you like. For more information see https://gbrtt.co.uk/wisp

This online event will be hosted on Zoom. The joining link and further details will be sent to participants nearer the time. If you have any queries please contact events@communityrail.org.uk
